Resistive Screens Dual Touch SDK Project

Forever i have hated other devices than Windows Phones, specially the ones that were able do a pinch to zoom!
I started reading alot about pinch to zoom (P2Z) and how cool it is, really didn’t like the fact that only Capacitive touch screens can do pinch to zoom. Then HTC released the first Capacitive Windows Phone with a massive screen that really makes the phone great for Multimedia purposes but not for business use. The massive screen and the lack of KB were the best/worse pros/cons of the HD2.
Suddenly, a nice idea popped in my mind that we can do a semi multi touch effect on our lovely accurate Resistive touchscreens.
before i start talking about the project i would like to emphasize the fact that this by no means will be fully functional in the near future or offer the full features of Capacitive screens. But it will have a nice simulation of pinch to zoom, rotation and scrolling which are enough for every day’s use and as a proof of concept that IT IS POSSIBLE.
Now lets talk about the SDK.
at the current stage, the sdk offers a preliminary pinch to zoom feature, but at the same time as it is pre-alpha version it will break the Scrolling! this is still work in progress but i’m heavily working on it. there is already an XDA thread for this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=593290 if you want to download it. The next release will be based here in this community website once we finish the setup of everything and have our forums up and running.
I will leave you now with the video posted on youtube, as you can see this is my HTC Touch Pro 2 and the application works perfectly, the slow resizing is not the SDK problem, it’s because the test application is not using any graphics libs, only .net width and height so it looks like this.
drop us a comment if you have ideas to add to this SDK, currently our plan is to include Pinch2Zoom, Rotate and Scroll.
